On January 23rd the Indiana Coalition for the Arts will host Arts Day 2012. As you may recall, last year’s new format resulted in the best Arts Day in the organization’s history. Each of the 150 legislators received a one on one communication from one of our advocates informing them of the impact the arts have had on their district because of the support of the Indiana General Assembly.
This year, we plan to once again Storm the Floor. Guided by our informational training preceding the 1:30 p.m. Storm, we are anticipating over one hundred arts advocates from across the state to join us in meeting the legislators, sharing the district impact packets and ensuring that the arts are treated in line with the other state agencies. Though the arts budget was left unchanged this year, we absolutely do not want to let our state’s decision makers forget that the arts not only mean better quality of life they also mean jobs, economic development and creative, competitive industry.
Arts Day 2012 has been scheduled with the following:
10:30 a.m. Registration begins
10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Training at Indiana Repertory Theatre’s Main Stage
12:30 p.m. Arrive at Indiana Statehouse
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Reception
Storm the floor
To do this, we need your help.
